According to market research firm Statista, the UAE vaping market is projected to reach $78 million in value this year.
UAE health authorities highlighted the success of nicotine pouches in other regions, particularly Europe. Sweden, for example, has significantly reduced smoking rates by adopting harm reduction strategies, including alternative nicotine products. Since the 1980s, this shift has led to a substantial decline in smoking-related cancers, including lung, oral, esophageal, and stomach cancers.
“By replacing cigarette smoking with alternative products like nicotine pouches, Sweden has achieved remarkable improvements in public health,” said Patrik Hildingsson, Oral Category Communications Director at Philip Morris, the company behind the globally popular Zyn nicotine pouches. “While quitting entirely is ideal, many smokers struggle to do so. For those individuals, providing safer alternatives—free from combustion, smoke, and the harmful chemicals produced by burning tobacco—is a crucial step forward.”
